I would like to be able to add, edit or remove recipes when using the iOS versions, and have them synced wirelessly with all devices. It would be killer app if it would work as seamlessly as MobileMe syncing of contacts, mail, notes, bookmarks and calendars do. I never have to think of syncing the items. It should be the same way with recipes and shopping lists. Shopper from Midcentury Media works this way with mine and my wife's iPhone.

I have been using Macgourmet for years, and rely on my iPad when I'm cooking. My crappy workaround: print meal plan to a PDF with the recipes included, and then save to my dropbox account. I then open the PDF on my iPad. I rarely sync the recipes, even though I add new ones constantly, because syncing from Macgourmet to iPad is not efficient.
I got the MacGourmet App so I could take my iPad with me and add numerous paper recipes that I don't have time to enter on my mac when I'm at home. I spend so much time waiting on my children at various activities and this would have made for some great multitasking time! I'm super disappointed that the app doesn't offer the ability to do this. So I just paid $4.99 just to carry my recipes with me on my iPad? BUMMER!!!!
Couldn't agree more, mac gourmet is the best cooking software for me now, but it CAN be perfect with just a few additions and then I could stop looking at alternatives a few times a yar when some missing features bug me...
Is anyone still updating the iPad app? No update since March 2011? I'd like to get the new MacGourmet both for the computer and iPad, because 3-4 years ago I really liked the software, but the lack of sync options is making it much less useful than it could be. I'm gradually shifting to using Evernote for new recipes that I add to my computer, because then I don't have to put effort into syncing, but I really don't want to have to export all the MacGourmet data I've got.
This is a bummer! It is time for MacGourmet to get with the icloud linking between devices or close down. The old iTune sync at least allowed to take recipes with on summer vacation. Now no deal!
The lack of real synchronization between the desktop and iOS versions is a real deal breaker with me. Often I want to enter a recipe into the one of the mobile platforms, but the current options of either making multiple entries entries for the same recipe, or deleting all your old ones is not synchronization. At the VERY least there should be record level sych between the databases (with the option of viewing both so you can choose the most appropriate one). As it is now, I have three stand alone products, one for the desk, one for the iPad, and one for the iPhone. If I syc them I risk losing a lot of valuable information.
I agree it would be fantastic to be able to type in new recipes on my iPad or alter existing recipes and then sync the changes with MacGourmet on my iMac.
This would be awesome, when can we expect to have it?
Please make this an option!! I downloaded the macgourmet app to my iPad to use in the kitchen because my laptop is too bulky. I often make different portion sizes, and need to be able to scale my recipes. To not be able to do this from the iPad basically makes this app useless for me.
It would also be useful to be able to flag or mark a recipe, so it's easier to find on the ipad.
Find myself exporting desktop recipes to a rival ipad app becaue it's much more practical in the kitchen.
Thanks
Ipad MG seems to have a browser incorporated. It would be great if recipes could be edited. However since it doesn't sync wirelessly, being able to add, edit etc might be an issue.
Wow!! I thought it would have been a no-brainer to have included this capability when originally developed. I like the software, but it would be much better if edit capabilities could be handled on my iPad. I use it in the kitchen and if I modify a recipe don't want to have to go back to my computer to make a change.
Totally agree on this one.
